Chiropractic in Thailand

Chiropractic is growing in Thailand

Chiropractic has been around since 1895 and is still considered a fairly modern treatment, personally i have had treatments myself and would recommend this as a useful source of Alternative Health Care.....

Thailand has a small handful of professional clinics, you will certainly find a few in Thailand Alternative Lifestyles directory

Here is some information i have searched........

Chiropractic is an approach to healthcare that focuses on the body's natural healing abilities. In modern times, it was Dr. Daniel D. Palmer (1895) who proposed that because of the integral interrelationship between the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, dysfunction in the former can cause dysfunction in the latter. This, in turn, can lead to disorders in other systems of the body. Within limits the body is a self-healing organism and Chiropractic tries to remove interferences to the body's own inborn healing abilities.Chiropractic is a modern health practice with historical roots. Ancient Egyptian and Chinese art works illustrate spinal manipulations. In the fifth century B.C., already Hippocrates developed theories of spinal mechanics and the role of manipulation in the overall health of the human body. However, as other forms of medicine developed further, manipulation stayed in the background until 1895, when Dr. Palmer adjusted the spine of a man who had lost his hearing after his neck 'popped' in an accident. The patient's hearing was successfully restored, and Dr. Palmer began teaching the clinical applications of his ideas. Since then Chiropractic has dramatically grown as a health care profession, with now more than 50,000 doctors practicing in the U.S. alone. For the past 100 years, people of all ages have benefited greatly from Chiropractic's drugless, non-surgical approach to better health. Often new patients initially visit a Chiropractor to relieve pain and soon realize that Chiropractic does more. By removing nerves interference from the spinal column, and sometimes from other joints as well, Chiropractors help patients achieve and maintain good health and improve physical performance. Chiropractic in fact has a fundamental focus on preventive care and well being. (information compiled from brochures of chiropractic educational institutions.

What seperates the Chiropractic profession from all other health care providers?

Is the use of adjustments to the spinal vertebrae in the restoration and maintenance of health. This specialized treatment, which is also called the spinal manipulation, is a specific movement applied to the spinal joint to restore proper motion and function and to eliminate nerve irritation. Adjustments are a skill that requires special training and is an integral part of a chiropractors education. Special physical tests as well as diagnostic x ray and MRI, are used to determine where and what type of adjustment is needed to correct the specific health condition.

Most adjustive technique is done with the hands through there are also methods of adjustment that involve instruments or sophisticated tables. The most common method of adjustment and probably the most widely used is called Diversifed technique. With this method the practitioner physically moves the joint with a small fast impulse that causes an articular release or what the patients often calls ''cracking''. The sound that one feels and hears is not the bones cracking but arelease of gas presurre within the joint when it resets itself during the adjustment. Besides the increased mobility in the joint, the adjustment helps increase the circulation and relieve pressure upon the nerve endings that line the surface of the joint and course through the space betweenthe joints. This is particularly useful when one has acute back or neck pain that involves muscle spasm as often one can feel immediate increase in movement and a significant decrease in pain directly after an adjustment

Thailand Nightlife

Nightclubs, Bars & Entertainment in Thailand

The Thailand Entertainment is exciting. Thailand has a a great reputation for exciting nightlife, In fact If you are in Bangkok the best spots to visit in would be in the Sukhumvit Area. The city's nightlife is relaxed, safe and very enjoyable. You don't need to dress up, and you won't break the bank. The city's nightlife goes way beyond the over-worn naughty image from the Vietnam days. And it really does go on around the clock. For tourists, the main centers for evening entertainment are concentrated around Silom Road (Patpong, Thaniya, Silom Soi 2 and 4), Sukhumvit (Soi Nana, Soi Cowboy, Soi 33) and most recently Khao San Road. First-class hotels are often good centers for nightclubs and discotheques, which are generally quite cheap and of very good standard. Pubs and bars can be found all over the city, many specializing in live music and usually offering food as well.
